Wardrobe for Your Shoot
When it comes to a boudoir shoot (we refer to them as intimate portraits), you need to wear something that makes you feel fantastic!
It can be a classic lingerie piece like a one-piece bodysuit with garter belts, or you could go with something a bit more elegant, like a corset with matching bottoms. I always leave it up to the person I’m working with to decide what they really love.
If I had to recommend attire, here are some sites I’d highly recommend checking out:
This company produces unique pieces that are not only sexy but classy, too. While the price point is high, their apparel stands out. Below are some examples of a person I worked with that introduced me to their brand:
BODYSUITS
Bodysuits can be very revealing or not. The one-piece attire is a lovely choice for boudoir shoots. You can wear a classic dark color or even get flashy with a sparkly bodysuit. Below are some examples:
BRA AND BOTTOMS
This is such a simple approach and works so well. I do recommend that they are a set. Sometimes, even if they are the same color, they may not match perfectly, which can be evident in photos. Either way, it’s an easy way to feel sexy and comfortable. Sometimes, the fancier the attire, the more problematic it can become, which also ends up disturbing the vibe. I highly recommend trying on all attire at home before the shoot. You must feel comfortable in it..oh and watch those tags! :)
NUDE
This is the easiest and the most difficult. If you’re totally comfortable in your body, then go for it! This is the time to encapsulate where your body is at the moment. Celebrate your beauty! While it could be highly nerve-wracking to fathom the idea of being nude, my wife and I do our best to make sure you are comfortable in our studio. We can pump up the heat to ensure you’re comfy and provide you with a robe that you can always toss aside once you are ready to begin the session. Either way, it’s definitely a beautiful way to capture yourself.
LASTLY
By now, you have an idea of the vibe you want to capture. We specialize in moody lighting or bright, over-the-top neon vibes. Natural light is also an option, depending on the time of year.
Dark attire, sparkly items, or bright white attire are probably best for moody lighting. A lovely turquoise also works, but we suggest you go with the most flattering shade.
For neon vibes, definitely go crazy with sparkly or colorful items.
Natural light calls for pastels! Nude colors also work great!
